Conference Table
President Calvin Coolidge and Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon appear in a historic photograph at a large oval conference table similar to this one. As a distinct form of office furniture, the conference table was not common until the early 20th century when modern office practices became standardized. This table is distinguished by a silver plaque commemorating the fact that the table was used by Treasury Secretary George Shultz and the Soviet Minister of Foreign Trade in 1973 for the signing of the Income Tax Convention Treaty.
