Stereoscopic Card - Cash Room
This view of the Cash Room was taken at the time that it was decorated for Ulysses S. Grant's Inaugural Reception on March 4, 1869. The stereographic view from the Treasury Collection shows the room outfitted with bunting and a large allegorical painting on the upper balcony. This is one of several views of the Cash Room which was photographed extensively upon its opening. (Gift of the Treasury Historical Association)
