The Department of the Treasury’s annual (AFR) Agency Financial Report provides fiscal and high-level performance results that enable the President, Congress, and the American people to assess our accomplishments for each fiscal year (October 1 through September 30). This report provides an overview of our programs, accomplishments, challenges, and management’s accountability for the resources entrusted to us. The report is prepared in accordance with the requirements of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-136, Financial Reporting Requirements.

Treasury’s Annual Performance Report (APR) provides information on the agency's actual performance and progress in achieving the goals in its strategic plan and performance budget. The report is prepared in accordance with the requirements of (OMB) Circular A-11.

OMB guidance allows for the APR and AFR to either be published as separate documents or consolidated into a single document called the “Performance and Accountability Report (PAR)”. In 2009, Treasury opted to produce the APR and AFR separately. During previous years, Treasury produced a consolidated PAR.
