Brian C. Roseboro
Under Secretary for Domestic Finance
Brian Carlton Roseboro was sworn in as Under Secretary of the Treasury
for Domestic Finance on April 16, 2004. He previously served as
Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Financial Markets since
July 30, 2001.
In his role, Mr. Roseboro advises and assists the Secretary of
the Treasury on all aspects of domestic finance. Specifically, the
office is responsible for formulating policy and legislation in
the areas of public debt management, capital markets, financial
institutions, government financial management services, federal
lending, fiscal affairs, government sponsored enterprises, and community
development.
Prior to his government service, Mr. Roseboro was most recently
Deputy Director of Market Risk Management for the American International
Group from 1996 until 2001. From 1993 to 1996 he was Director &
Risk Management Adviser on foreign exchange trading for Swiss Bank
Corp. in New York. He was Vice President of foreign-exchange options
trading at the First National Bank of Chicago between 1988 and 1993.
He began his financial markets career with the Federal Reserve Bank
of New York where he worked between 1983 and 1988, rising to chief
dealer on the foreign-exchange trading desk.
Mr. Roseboro received a Certificate in International Relations
and a BA degree in economics from the University of Rochester 1981.
He also received a MBA from Columbia University 1983. He is married
to Valerie Walker Roseboro and has two children, a daughter Cleo
and a son Brian.
